About — Will Mason

So this is the about section of my website, where I'm supposed to write things about… myself. Well, my name is Will and I'm a twenty-something hard-working movie-loving guy living in Los Angeles and working as an Assistant Editor in Film & TV. I’m a proud cat-dad of two adventurous felines, and when I’m not holed-up in an edit suite I like to write poetry and short stories. Homer is my middle name, which was my grandfather's name, but I'll happily accept any comparisons to the legendary Greek author (or Homer Simpson, I guess that's fine).

I think post production is the most exciting and often the most influential aspect of filmmaking. It’s magical how an editor can affect the movement of a story and make you feel a certain way. I learned how to edit when I was about 12 years old (at first to make embarrassing fan videos of my favorite TV shows), and I’ve been growing and adding to my editing skillset ever since. My experience ranges from feature films and TV to advertising and short-form content. I love narrative film, but have recently found a particular affinity for non-fiction and documentary. More than anything, I enjoy smart, thoughtful people who care about what they do and strive to produce top-tier emotionally resonant art.
