DOCUMENTARY SERIES - SHOWTIME
Role: Assistant Editor
I worked on seasons 2-4 of the Emmy-nominated documentary series VICE on Showtime, as an assistant editor working across 20+ documentary/news segments simultaneously. My duties included ingesting large amounts of footage, organizing scene breakdowns, preparing interviews and verite footage for translation or transcription, building graphics in After Effects, creating string-outs and selects sequences, and supporting multiple editors and post supervisors as needed.
For seasons 3 and 4, I was responsible for stacking the final episode, meaning that I stitched together the individual edited segments into the full episode format. I performed QC on each episode, made fixes as needed, and created exports for network review. I also prepared the final picture-locked cuts for online, color correction, and sound mix.
DOCUMENTARY SERIES - HBO
Role: Assistant Editor
I was an assistant editor on this 3-part documentary series for HBO which chronicles the debut season of the Los Angeles women’s soccer team Angel City FC. The series premiered on HBO on May 16, 2023.
I worked with a team of editors and AEs on Avid in both LA and NYC. My responsibilities included ingesting and syncing large amounts of documentary verite footage, assisting editors with selects and stringouts, searching for archival, managing outputs for producers and network deliveries, and handling paper deliverables including archival reports and music cue sheets.
EPISODIC WEB SERIES
Role: Editor | Director: Olivia Accardo
ONE TRUE LOVES is a 4-episode web series written and directed by Olivia Accardo, the semi-mostly-definitely-actually-true-autobiographical retelling of every dude she met that she was certain she'd spend the rest of her life with. It's a coming-of-age comedy that follows our protagonist Lydia as she grows up and falls wildly in and out of true love eight times.
We crowdfunded through Seed & Spark to fund production and produced a teaser and six "minisodes" to give our audience taste of what's to come. The campaign was a huge success, finishing with 114% of our goal, and in July 2018, we released the series on Vimeo and Facebook.
The series has received lots of praise and was written up by several online publications, including a feature on NoBudge. It has been selected for several top-tier film festivals, including Seattle International Film Festival and Rhode Island International Film Festival, and was awarded audience choice awards for Best Web Series at both Richmond International Film Festival and Dances With Films.
SHORT FILM
Role: Editor | Director: Taylor Mansmann
Between 2021-2022 I edited the queer horror film Obscura directed by Taylor Mansmann for his MFA thesis at The University of Texas at Austin. I edited the film in Avid Media Composer and collaborated remotely with Taylor as he was based in Austin.
The film was a labor of love and required lots of creative effort and outside-the-box thinking to capture Taylor’s vision. But the final product turned out wonderfully strange, campy, and beautiful. The film is currently being submitted to festivals, but you can view a short teaser here.
LOWE’S MVP REWARDS | TV Commercial
Role: Assistant Editor at Rock, Paper, Scissors
I was the assistant editor on this :30 TV commercial for Lowe’s. My duties included ingesting and organizing footage from 5 total shoot days, handing temp VFX comps in After Effects, preparing the locked cut for finishing, and supporting the editor with various requests as needed.
THE LAST STOP BEFORE | Episodic Content
Role: Editor & Producer at Omelet
Omelet’s internal production studio developed and produced Walmart World’s “The Last Stop Before” video series, showcasing the strange and heartfelt experiences of Walmart associates in locations across the country. Each episode focuses on a Walmart store location that serves as a gathering place and “last stop” for supplies during big cultural events such as a local Texas renaissance fair, Coachella, or the Sturges Motorcycle Rally.
The series was created for the employee-focused content platform Walmart World, featured on Facebook and Instagram. In addition to the 3-5 minute episodes, we created various promotional content for Walmart’s social platforms and in-store promotions. I edited and co-produced the five-part series in 2019 with Omelet.
EVERYONE DESERVES A GUARDIAN | Commercials
Role: BTS Editor at Omelet
I edited a behind-the-scenes feature as part of Guardian Insurance’s “Everyone Deserves a Guardian” brand launch campaign. The goal of this companion piece was to highlight the humanity of the real people who were featured in the TV spot and their stories. The TV commercial was directed by Dan DiFelice at Biscuit and edited by Graham Chisolm at Arcade Edit.
The campaign was highly regarded and featured as Ad of the Day in AdWeek. The behind-the-scenes portion was a crucial aspect of the campaign and received praise in the write-up. Because of its success, we created an additional edit of the behind-the-scenes feature for a key ad placement on the New York Times.
PRINCESS CRUISES | Commercials
Role: Editor at Omelet
During my time at Omelet I worked on various TV commercials and social media videos for Princess Cruises. For these videos we were provided with a massive library of existing footage and materials to sift through and create content for online ads and broadcast TV commercials. I was responsible for editing the spots, as well as managing delivery and archive requirements for hundreds of deliverables each month.
‘REASONS’ & ‘NECKLACE’ | Music Videos
Role: Editor | Artist: Fifty Grand
Fifty Grand is an LA-based artist with over 45K followers on SoundCloud. He came to me and executive producer Sophie Taylor with the task of producing his debut music video to accompany his new song “Reasons.” He wanted to make an impact with his first visual while staying true to his unique style.
The result was a horror-inspired music video with striking cinematography by Corey Vent and jazz-funk choreography by Bash Johnson. The video launched with much excitement from Fifty Grand’s fanbase and has received heaps of praise in its Instagram and Youtube comments.
After the success of the first music video, we produced another for Fifty Grand’s new track “Necklace” which premiered on the Youtube channel TRASH.
SAVE THE DROP ‘DEAR LAWN’ | Commercial PSA
Role: Editor & Producer at Omelet
"Dear Lawn" was the first live-action piece for the Save the Drop campaign run by the Mayor's Fund of Los Angeles, to raise awareness for the drought, water conservation, and California-friendly landscaping.
These spots were produced entirely in-house through Omelet’s internal studio. The spots were featured online, aired on cable TV, and played in LA movie theaters (in both English and Spanish). The campaign was successful and convinced Angelenos across the city to trade in their grassy lawns for a California-friendly yard.
‘AVANT CARD’ | Branded Web Video
Role: Assistant Editor & Post Producer at Omelet
DTS came to us with an unexpected idea: bring together their innovative Headphone:X three-dimensional soundscape technology with the visual spectacle of Cardistry (the performance art of card tricks & flourishing).
We teamed up with Dan & Dave, the founders of Cardistry, and NYC-based production company Georgia to produce a strangely satisfying piece of branded video art.
SHORT FILM
